Players wishing to participate in the Video Game Regional Championships will need to have a Play! Pokémon account. We recommend that all players check their account to confirm their email and mailing addresses are up to date.

​All Players must be in good standing with the Play! Pokemon program and
agree to follow (including but not limited to) the Play! Pokémon Tournament Rules, Standards of Conduct, Equality, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Policy, and the COVID-19 Protocols as seen at on the Play! Pokemon Rules & Resources page.
​Pokémon VGC Regional Championships take place over 2 days; Saturday & Sunday and will use
  • Regulation E (per Switch News and HOME - updates expected Sept 13)

VCG Registration includes:
  • Entry into the Pokémon Video Game Championship Tournament
  • Choice or Pokémon Playmat or Pokémon Hat

  • Players under 18 receive 1 Spectator Event Pass. Additional passes can be purchased at HERE
VGC Registration
All VGC Players must register through RK9 Labs.
Registration will reopen on Thursday, September 7th at 7:00 pm CDT for additional Master seats.

Tournament Package purchases require a photo ID at the time of pickup.
Packages may be picked up anytime at the Prize Wall/Side Events area.

Teamlist Submission

All Video Game players are required to submit their Teamlist online via RK9 Labs.
Any teamlist not submitted by the deadline will receive a round 1 loss. Please see the VGC Main Stage to for further instructions.

Check In

Players may complete their venue check during event hours on Friday, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm (local time) or on Saturday morning. Please give yourself plenty of time to complete the Venue Check In process prior to the start of the Players Meetings on Saturday.

Please bring:

Per TPCi, to participate in the VGC Pokémon Regional Championships, players will need to bring the following:
  • A Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game (physical or digital) updated to the most recent software version.
  • A fully charged system in the Nintendo Switch family with a working USB-C port and the latest system updates installed.
    • You should set your Nintendo Switch wired internet settings to automatic
    • Make sure you have an active Nintendo Switch Online Membership for the duration of the event.
  • A team of tournament-legal Pokémon for the current format at the time of the event (see the Tournament Rules and check back regularly before the event for updates).​
Players are strongly encouraged to bring a charger for their systems. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure that their console remains operational throughout the tournament.
Proof of age may be requested, and failure to provide proof of age may result in the player being denied participation in the tournament (at the organizer’s discretion).
